oz (350g) plain flour

oz (75g) margarine

oz (75g) lard

lb (450g) rump steak or topside beef

oz (75g) shredded suet

Preheat
oven to 200 C/400F/Gas Mark 6. Rub margarine and lard into the flour.
Add a little salt and enough cold water to make a firm dough. Divide
into 4 equal pieces and roll out into ovals.

Beat
out the steak to make it thinner and cut into small squares. Mix the
meat and suet and add the finely chopped onion. Season well and divide
into 4 portions. Cover half of each oval with meat and seal well. Crimp
the edges with fingers and thumb. Make a small hole in the top of each
one. Place on a greased baking-sheet and bake for 45 minutes.
